Xukun Shen
Beihang University, China 

Biosketch: Prof. Xukun Shen, doctoral supervisor, he served as the deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Virtual Reality Technology and Systems, the executive director of the Chinese Society of System Simulation, and the director of the Virtual Technology Application Professional Committee. He serves as the executive director of the China Graphics Society and the director of the Digital Media Professional Committee. Prof. Xukun Shen has been engaged in virtual reality and visualization research for a long time, especially in the collaborative working environment technology of virtual and real integration, rapid modeling of three-dimensional objects, geometric deformation and animation, multiphase fluid interaction and simulation technology. In the past five years, he has published more than 40 academic papers, co-authored 2 monographs, and applied for acceptance and obtained more than 20 national invention patents. In 2004, he won 1 second prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 1 second prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award in 2009, 1 first prize of the National Science and Technology Progress Award in 2010, and 1 first prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Invention Award in 2013. He has been approved to preside over a number of national/ministerial scientific research projects, among them, the China Digital Science and Technology Museum has also opened services and won the World Information Summit Award, and was commended by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the China Association for Science and Technology; The collaborative working environment technology of virtual and real integration is being applied to major national projects. It has carried out in-depth international exchanges and cooperation, and has carried out joint training and cooperative research with the University of Edinburgh in United Kingdom, HP Research China, and Microsoft Research Asia.  



Tatsuo Nakajima
Waseda University, Japan 

Biosketch: Tatsuo Nakajima is a professor with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in Waseda University. His research interests are distributed systems, embedded systems, ubiquitous computing, and interaction design. Currently, his group is working on four topics. The first topic is to develop a virtualization layer for multicore processor-based embedded systems. The second topic is to develop ambient media that are new media to help human decision making. The third topic is to develop a crowd sourcing/crowd funding services to exploit human computation. The last topic is to develop a design framework for developing gameful services with embedding fictional stories to motivate to achieve a sustainable society.  



Pan Hui
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China 

Biosketch: Professor Pan Hui received his PhD from the Computer Laboratory at University of Cambridge, and both his Bachelor and MPhil degrees from the University of Hong Kong. He is a Chair Professor of Computational Media and Arts and Director of the Centre for Metaverse and Computational Creativity at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and a Chair Professor of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas and Director of the HKUST-DT Systems and Media Lab, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. His research team is highly multicultural and international with researchers from over 12 countries. He believes diversity brews creativity and novelty. He was a senior research scientist and then a Distinguished Scientist for Telekom Innovation Laboratories (T-labs) Germany from 2008 to 2015. His industrial profile also includes his research at Intel Research Cambridge and Thomson Research Paris from 2004 to 2006. His research has been generously sponsored by Nokia, Deutsche Telekom, Microsoft Research, and China Mobile. His other notable academic profile also includes the Nokia Chair in Data Science and a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Helsinki, Finland, and an adjunct professor of Social Computing at Aalto University, Finland. He has published more than 450 research papers and with over 25,000 citations. He has 30 European and US patents in the areas of augmented reality, mobile computing, and data science.
